System Requirements

The tables below serve as an overview for server and client system software requirements. For an overview of supported software for different AMT versions, please visit the Third Party Software page of the Release Notes website.

Servers

Visual C++ Redistributable	Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 is required. It is recommended to install both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions.	Middle Tier Servers Web Server Generation Server
Visual Studio Build Tools	The Build Tools for Visual Studio 2022, the required version is 17.8 or newer. Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools, the required features for AMT are outlined on the Installing Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools help page.	Generation Server
PowerShell	PowerShell 7.4.1 or newer is required to run PowerShell scripts with the Batch Controller. warning Please note that PowerShell 7.4.1 can cause issues with older versions of the customer specific AMT PowerShell libraries. Printing	To be able to print using the LPR protocol, the Windows feature LPR-Port-Monitor must be installed on the server on which the Print Controller is running. This Windows feature can be installed through PowerShell using the Install-WindowsFeature LPR-Port-Monitor command.	Middle Tier Servers

Additional Information

Running Servers

User Access Control (UAC)
If UAC is used, it is recommended to run all LION components (LION Developer Studio, LION Generator, Reorganize, etc.) as Administrator. Alternatively, turn off UAC. Also see Controlling Services from a User Account.

Application Data in the Web Client
When accessing certain data in the Web Client like Listbox Files and Chart Images, these will be written to the ..\Client\App_Data folder before transferring them to the Web Browser. The Application Pool running the Web Client of the Application needs write permission to that folder for this to work correctly.

Middle Tier Servers

The Middle Tier is the server park where the server-based AMT components run. Middle Tier Servers consist of the following components:

File Controller
Batch Controller
Print Server
Reorganization Server
AMT-COBOL Transaction Server

Thin Clients

End users and administrators may make use of a thin client. The hardware of a thin client system must be sufficient to smoothly run the Operating System and an internet browser. Database connectivity is not required for thin clients. Temporary storage for AMT-COBOL requires 100MB disk space.
