High Availability
A failover system mechanism can be set up to guarantee a high uptime of AMT LION applications. To accomplish this, a spare server can be installed for all LION services that are added to the AMT LION runtime environment, except for the database reorganize service. If a normal service fails and one or more spare servers are available, one of the spare servers is activated. Once the normal server becomes active again, the spare server becomes inactive and returns to the "spare" state.
| If an application is used by more than 100 users, it is recommended to install multiple application services to handle the processing load. |
| If using multiple application services, an Application Manager service must also be installed. The manager handles the load-balancing across the application services. It also reroutes users if an application service fails. |
